This story was documented in an Oscar-nominated film in 2015 – “Last Days in Vietnam.”
This unique internship offers an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing, public relations, and communications while working on a project with significant cultural and historical relevance. New Book Marketing / Social Media / Public Relations Internship Responsibilities:
Your Role: As an intern at Apexant, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in exciting projects, collaborate with our team of experts, and develop critical skills in digital marketing, social media management, data research, and analysis. You’ll be an integral part of our team. Here are some of the things you could possibly be involved with:
- Marketing Strategy & Campaigns: Assist in developing and executing marketing and awareness campaigns to promote music, entertainment, or technology products and services. Collaborate on strategies to increase our client’s visibility and engagement across various target audiences, tailoring efforts to align with industry trends and company and client goals.
- Content Creation: Develop engaging content for multiple platforms, including blog posts, social media updates, press releases, and newsletters. Ensure messaging aligns with the brand’s voice and resonates with the intended audience while effectively communicating key product or campaign themes.
- Social Media Management: Manage our client’s social media accounts (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn) to promote products, services, or events. Schedule posts, respond to comments, and monitor audience engagement to build an online community. Adapt content to platform-specific trends and optimize reach.
- Public Relations & Outreach: Support outreach efforts to media outlets, influencers, collaborators, and industry organizations to generate publicity and secure coverage. Assist in drafting press releases (with help from AI), coordinating media pitches, and building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing virtual or in-person events, product launches, or promotional activities. Help manage logistics, prepare promotional materials, and ensure seamless execution for maximum audience engagement.
- Market Research: Conduct research to identify industry trends, competitor strategies, and potential target audiences. Analyze market data and provide insights to help refine marketing approaches and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Data Analysis: Track the performance of marketing campaigns, social media engagement, and promotional efforts. Analyze data and prepare reports to assess effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations for future strategies.
Additional Marketing Tasks:
- Brand Management: Assist in maintaining and enhancing the client’s brand identity by ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and platforms.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Paid Ads: Optimize website content for search engines and assist in setting up and managing paid advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.).
- Email Marketing: Create and manage email marketing campaigns using tools like Mailchimp or HubSpot to nurture leads and engage with customers.
- Affiliate and Influencer Marketing: Identify and collaborate with influencers or affiliate partners to promote products or services, expanding reach through partnerships.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Use CRM tools to track and manage interactions with clients and customers, analyzing data to improve engagement and retention.
- Product Marketing: Assist in positioning and promoting specific products or services, including developing messaging frameworks and coordinating product launches.
- Analytics and Reporting: Dive deeper into web traffic, social media analytics, and conversion metrics to provide actionable insights and measure campaign ROI.
- Marketing Automation: Help implement and manage automation tools to streamline marketing efforts (e.g., automated emails, social media scheduling, or chatbots).
- Partnership Marketing: Identify and manage collaborations with external organizations or businesses to co-promote products or campaigns.
- Community Management: Engage with online communities and forums (e.g., Reddit, Discord, Facebook Groups) to build brand presence and foster meaningful relationships with potential customers or users.
- Content Marketing: Develop long-form content such as whitepapers, case studies, and thought leadership articles that position the brand as an expert in its industry.
- Video Marketing: Create and promote video content for platforms like YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram Reels to increase audience engagement and enhance storytelling.
- Event Marketing: Plan, promote, and manage both virtual and in-person events such as webinars, trade shows, and launch parties to increase brand visibility and engagement.
- User-Generated Content (UGC) Strategy: Encourage and curate customer-generated content, reviews, or testimonials to build trust and enhance brand authenticity.
- Loyalty and Retention Marketing: Develop campaigns and strategies focused on increasing customer retention, including loyalty programs, re-engagement campaigns, and special offers.
- Market Segmentation and Targeting: Assist in identifying and targeting specific customer segments through tailored campaigns to improve relevance and conversion rates.
- Competitive Analysis: Monitor and analyze competitors’ strategies, providing insights and recommendations to stay ahead in the market.
- Omnichannel Marketing: Coordinate efforts across various marketing channels (social media, email, web, offline) to create a seamless customer experience.
- Public Affairs & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Marketing: Promote corporate social responsibility initiatives and manage public affairs campaigns to enhance the brand’s reputation and align with customer values.
- Marketing Technology Management (MarTech): Use and manage marketing technologies, such as customer data platforms, analytics tools, or social media management systems, to streamline marketing processes and improve efficiency.
Duration of all Internships:
- 3 and 6-month internship programs: No more than 8-10 hours per week. Fully REMOTE Work.

Qualifications:
- NOTE: This is a UNPAID College Intern role.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree program in Marketing, Business, Psychology, English, or a related field.
- Strong interest in any of the following – Music, Entertainment, Arts, Literature, and Technology background and a passion for helping others succeed.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google office tools.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing concepts.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and a strong team player.
